U&I Logistics - On September 21 in Bao Lam district, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Dong province held a ceremony to officially export the first batch of local durians to the Chinese market.
Accordingly, the export batch of durian in Loc An commune, Bao Lam district includes 4 containers (72 tons). This is also the first unit in Lam Dong to be granted a code of a planting area with an area of 150 ha and a code of a durian packing facility that meets standards for export to China.
This is an activity after the Protocol signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the General Administration of Customs of China was approved.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Chau, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assessed, this event has a very important meaning because this is the largest durian consumption market in the world. Currently, this helps businesses and farmers in Lam Dong province in particular and the whole country in general gain higher profits from this fruit.
Up to now, Lam Dong province has had 2 establishments that have been granted packing codes and 1 area code for durian cultivation for export to China. In the near future, about 10 growing area codes will continue to be granted to units and businesses in the province in order to increase the supply of durian for the foreign market.
An enterprise specializing in exporting durian from Malaysia to visit and learn about durian growing areas in Bao Lam district (Lam Dong) to expand the supply of this specialty.

According to statistics, the area of durian in Lam Dong province is more than 14,000 hectares (including 8,894 hectares of intercropping, 5,538 hectares of net planting). In which, the business area for harvesting is about 7,000 ha, the output is about 99,364 tons per year. Durian growing areas are concentrated mainly in Da Huoai, Di Linh, Bao Lam and Da Teh districts with more than 12,000 ha. The remaining area is scattered in localities such as Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Bao Loc with the main varieties being MonThong, Ri6.
The province currently has more than 900 hectares of durian certified with VietGAP, has 17 production chains associated with durian consumption with 411 linked households, an area of 645.8 hectares, an output of 13,810 tons.
