(Thanhuytphcm.vn) - After proposing the General Department of Vietnam Customs on issuing documents guiding customs procedures to temporarily solve the situation of goods stuck at seaports with determination to ensure clearance requirements for goods of businesses without interrupting the supply chain for production and consumption, especially medical goods for Covid 19 disease prevention. Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department continues to actively provide practical solutions to support firms amid Covid-19 pandemic.
Specifically, on August 5, the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department issued Decision No. 1080/QD-HQTPHCM and Decision No. 1081/QD-HQTPHCM establishing two working teams including Customs clearance quick response teams for goods to serve the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic (Team 1080) and the Standing Team to prevent goods stuck at seaports (Group 1081). Members of the teams include: 1 leader of the Department, heads of border gate customs branches that have a large volume of import and export goods.
Team 1080 has the following tasks: Directing overall programs and solutions to maintain smooth state management of customs and clearance of goods at ports during the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic at the Department of Customs. Ho Chi Minh City Customs; Take the initiative and take responsibility for coordinating with organizations, business associations and individuals to receive and synthesize information in order to guide, advice and support customs procedures; connecting with relevant authorities and customs authorities in handling customs procedures, ensuring the fastest clearance for all kinds of goods, supplies, medical equipment for the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.
Team 1080 also participates in instructing and publishing customs procedures via the mass media; participates in the support and quick response groups of the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and other units to support, advise and directly remove difficulties for importers and exporters for receiving and customs clearance of goods for disease prevention.

Team 1081 has the task of coordinating with subordinate units to effectively implement trade facilitation programs and solutions in order to maintain smooth customs operation and clearance of goods at border gates and areas outside the border gates under the management of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department amid Covid-19 pandemic.
The team summarizes related difficulties and problems to report, advise and propose to the leaders of the Department urgent solutions to solve procedures for firms affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; report to the General Department of Customs and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for cases beyond its competence; develop a plan to offer solutions to solve backlogs and problems arising at the units, minimizing good stocks at the border gates.
The daily performance results of the two teams are reported directly to Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang, the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department for timely direction.
